Has anyone ever replaced a valve (intake) and if so, what kind of tool did you use to do it? I've seen cheapo valve spring clamps from 15e online, but those things are for cars. Are car valve tools good for scooters too..? I'm going to fix the engine next week, any help before that is greatly appreciated.

I'm talking about _the_ valves: www.jm-racing.fi/product_details.php?p=594I'm thinking of using dremel to pop the old one off, then use some sort of clamp to push the new spring into place, unless I find suitable valve tool. Do they make any smaller valve clamps for 30-50cc engines..? I'm sure it would cost less to just take it to a shop and let them change it, but if I ever want to change another valve..

I have to, it's twisted. It was stuck open, I bend it back so it's moving again freely, but the contact is so poor, intake is not opening anymore and it feels like it's stuck when turning the engine. Luckily the part is very inexpensive, whole valve with spring and accessories goes around 13 euros.
I also need new carb, old one is very dirty and I can't get access anywhere without using dremel - former owner tried to clean it up and left me with nearly every bolt and screw cap totally round, so I can't get any contact with screwdriver. It's just easier to buy a new one, besides, it's supposed to run better with dellorto.

OUCH! That hurts the whole Carb seems to be rather expensive, but when you gotta have it-you gotta have it. Try partsforscooters.com they should have what you need.

I'm from Finland, ordering parts all the way from USA seems little overkill, don't you think ..luckily, every 3rd moped sold at Finland is a chinese scooter, so the parts are not highly overpriced. Dellorto carb is going for 65€ and I know place that sells the original carb with same pricetag. Naturally I wish to have something more quality controlled than the original, so I'm going with Dellorto, though, I'm not sure if the automatic choke is going to work with it - if not, guess I'll need to toss another 50€ for Dellorto one.. ..wish wasting money was as hard as making it. During the weekend, I'll be doing the shoppinglist, though, I haven't received an offer from another retailer for the parts. Guess my money is no good for them? :b

don't go to partsforscooters mate, llexeter.com is awy way way cheaper, they sell almost all the parts you need to make a whole moped, but they're no good if your looking for persofmance parts though
