Hey ive had my scooter for around six months and its been great and has never failed to start and has given me good speeds 45+. until last week when it felt really weak starting and it just wouldnt start. so i thought i should warm up the engine with a hairdryer and after that it started after afew kicks. so i think i am loosing compression cos ive already bought a new startor motor so i know thats not the problem. also when i stop for like 30 mins or so it will start electrically very easily. what does any1 suggest cos im tired of using a hair dryer to start it every day.??

valves were the first thing i checked they are fine. And ive bought a new battery and tried leaving it unplugged over night but still the same problem. once its running its fine still getting just over 45 with great acceleration. must be the rings then!!

Check your spark plug.
Have you changed the Chinese one for an NGK or Champion. They are much better and will help cold starting greatly.
Also check the auto choke is working. There is a thread about it on here somewhere. The auto choke may be stuck.
It's very unlikely to be the rings, I've never heard of anyone having trouble with them. There have been a few members who do unimaginable things to their scooter, but the engine has remained good and solid!
Let us know how you get on.
