Hi, I'm a girl from Finland. Bought a 125-4 Baotian (Bt125T-7) a month ago. My problem is max speed. It's only 75km/h (less than 50mph)! Any advices what can I do to get some more speed?? 85km/h would be safe and enough for me I can't do any technical things myself but hopefully I'll get some help from my dad My dad said that most likely there is no restriction and there isn't much to do in the Carb?? So please guys some tips! Annika

I have a Sukida T3, same engine as yours, GY6. If you open the airbox up you will probably find a restrictive tube device in it, this will slide out, take it out and this will improve things. Change your gearbox oil too, the chinese stuff is like honey! Next, if you hav'nt already changed your plug do so with an NGK CR7HSA, and get rid of the chinese one. Last thing engine wise is open the valve gaps tp 0.08mm, this really changed my bike! I put my tyre pressures to 28lb front & 32 rear. If you have less than 750 kms on your bike you will find it seems to go better after this figure, lots of people on the forum have commented on this. I have done all this, at no extra cost, and my bike has clocked up 3200ks now without missing a beat, and can hit 65mph under the right conditions, so good luck with yours.

Hi enu06 and thanks for your advices. we have changed both gear- and engine oils. Also spark plug is new one. My dad adjusted valve gaps to 0,05mm...the seller said that it's the correct value? ?? And the engine type is 152QMI..according to the papers. I have to check tyre pressures ..and let my dad check the airbox..he has took a look inside the airbox earlier too..but perhaps he didn't look so well ...but I'll let you all know... And the meter shows 1100km. Perhaps it's just a "monday" bike Annika

Hi, We did study the air filter box...but didn't find any restrictive tube in it ..here is a picture... There is a rubber airtube (?) going from exhaust to engine...my dad was thinking what happens if we disconnect the tube from the exhaust end...ant put some kind os filter to the end of the rubber tube...is there any possibility to make damage to the engine...and does it help at all... Is there anything we can do with the carb??? The type of the carb is:GHENG WEY GY6-W MI-140000 Thanks guys in advance Annika

Hi Annika & Dad!
The picture you show doesn't tell the whole story. You should open those screws holding the plastic grill and remove also the primary filter under the grill. There, underneath, are three inlets to the filter box. At least in my scooter (almost the same as yours but made by Qinqgi), one of the inlets is blocked with a rubber plug. I took a notice on that while examining my scooter, but I didn't remove it yet as I am still in the phase of breaking it in, so I didn't want to start making any mods, yet ....
Another thing worth while checking, though, is the air tube between the filter box and the carb. At least in my case, one of the connections was badly assembled so that the tube inside had been flattened and it prevented some of the airflow. Most likely there was also some air leakage. After fixing that, the engine ran nicely up to 8000 rpm (slight downhill), while before it did only 7000 rpm (or sometime up to 7500 but with coughing)! So, I'd recommend to open all the connections one by one to see that everything is OK.
So, at the moment I am getting about 80 km/h on the flat (checked with a gps), but still breaking in. So, probably the maximum will be about 80-85 km/h. On uphills, it will decrease down to 70 km/h, or even less. So, if you want more, you'll need to put in some performance parts/mods.... BTW: the engine 152qmi (125ccm) is same as 157qmj (150ccm), which is the same as the Gy6. All these are same Honda clones. The only difference between all these is the diameter of the cylinder. So, if you wish to get some more power, just start Goggling or eBaying with the word "Gy6". You'll be surprised on what's available....
If you should go for a big bore kit, be ware that the 59 mm (155 ccm) would be the maximum for "a plug and play installation". All the bigger kits (up to 180 ccm) will require some machinery work on your engine, e.g. they are possible, but you'll need to put a bit more effort, and it might be difficult to rebuild the engine back to a 125 ccm (e.g. when reselling it) ...

Moikka Mika, Thanks for your info..really preciated. There isn't any kind of rubber plug in the box...but the air tube was flattened a bit! Anyway "we" ;-) did swap the main jet to bigger one and bingo! Now I'm able to drive 80-85 km/h. Original was 108 and it's now 115. Uphill and against the wind the speed is 75km/h but I'm now very satisfied.. this is so safe speed for me All the very best to you Mika. Muksaa viikonloppua! Annika

Moi moi, Annika & Dad, Nice to hear that you are now where you wanted! I had a look on my jet: it's already 115! So, I just wonder why they sell some of these with a 108 and others with a 115 ? Well, the important thing is that you've found the right solution: Congratulations on that! Mukavia ajokelejä , Mika
