Some people on the swedish forum had the same problem. The variator getting too warm is becoming a bigger problem with 70cc, hot weather and long trips without any breaks. The thing that I have seen people do on the forum is to open up the small pipe (air intake) that goes into the variator. Instead of the existing three small holes, make one big. Then cover the intake with some kind of mesh so that dirt does not get into the variator.
