The fan setup on the 139QMB(the small fan next to the belt) is the worst engineering ive seen in a while. Im working on my own driven plate to fit here since the stock ones aint gonna cut it. The splines are too short. Has anyone tried anything like this yet? please let me know, I have booger'd up THREE crankshaft ends due to this horrible desgn. Mark...

its the small fan on the outside of the fan pulley(I call it the driven plate)with splines. Im thinking that I have more problems than people in the UK because of the climate difference. The fan kindof distorts almost melting loosening up the plate, causing the splines to waller out. Please bear with my american english! thanks, Mark...

Yea, sorry guys I just woke from a nice nap! The fan is designed to provide air flow through the left side cover of the engine to keep the belt and pulleys/clutch and variator cool. Its completely different system from the "forced air cooled engine" system. The motors that I have seen have both. To the best of my knowlege the 139QMB has 3 air intake ports 1. air cleaner 2. forced air(engine cooling) 3. pulleys ( this is the one I am talking about)

I think that forced air is going to be one of the things that im going to try and use. I have a prototype started it consists of items #18 and 20 tacked together. Im just afraid of overheating the vari, belt, clutch, etc. But I am sure that forced air is going to keep it cooler than ever(by forced air I mean kinda like cowl induction, +scooter speed +higher headwind=airflow to variator area. I hope it works im tired of buying belts,vari's.......crankshafts :l
