my scoot is also 8 months old, done 4259 kms.... 1st thing I'd do if I was you would be weigh the roller weights if it had the same (8.5g) standard weights I'd be hoping for a better top speed mine with 4.7gs at 8000 RPM= 50+MPH

i have bought and they came today some 4.4g weight a k+n air filter a 90# jet and a new spark plug so hopefully this will help when i do the job later. it currently sits at 35 mph at 6000 rpm the revs only go above 6000 rpms if it is on the centre stand

i tryed to do the jobs last night andhit another problem? my kickstart is broke. it looks like the spring has streched. is there anyway i can use the bike and take the kick start off. when i put the cover back there is now a noise coming from inside i think it might be the cog that goes on to the variator dosent seem to be sitting properly? also i cant get the variator off tryed an impact wrench. wonder if one of those guns that they use in the garages to take of your wheel nuts will work?

You can use an air wrench to undo the nut but make sure it is not set to high for tightening up as these are very powerful.

You could remove the kickstart mechanism as long as the shaft will stay in place to keep water and dirt out but you would be buggered if you got a flat battery.
