I am having trouble with my scoot & am at my wits end!
My scoot was running poorly, Here are the details:
It was was using a LOT of gas & when the outside temp was above 60F the engine would chug & pop like it was getting too much or not enough gas. Checked my air filter & found it was full of gas. Apparently the carb is pushing too much gas or is plugged up. I took the carb off & cleaned the vacuum chamber & bowl. Put it back on. I started it up & it ran for about 10 seconds, spewing smoke out of the tail pipe, then stalled.
Then I took the carb back off & tore it completly down. Cleaned the float, float valve, main jet, low speed jet, fuel mixture screw & sprayed carb cleaner in all of the passages in the carb followed by compressed air. Put it all back together & tried to start it. Would not start. I smelled a strong fuel smell around the engine, so I pulled off the vaccum line & spark plug. smelled like a lot of fuel in the chamber. Plug is only 3 weeks old & looks fine. Left them out for 3 hours & put it back together. It fired up for a few seconds & then stalled (No smoke this time) Pulled the vacuum line back off & left it off over night. Tried starting again, but no luck. Almost caught & started but not quite. I don't know what else to do. driving my damn Jeep is killing me! Put $90 in gas in the damn thing in the last 10 days . I am going to go broke driving that thing!!! Got to have my scoot back on the road.
Billy,James, Ally (or any other expert scoot mechanic)#worshippy#, any thoughts or suggestions?
