Just out of interest, how many turns of the mixture screw did you eventually end up with?

My scoot has started to drop off then kick in again on full acceleration. I can't live with this & suspect the accelerator pump. The carburettor seems a tribute to heath robinson engineering. Anyone got any thoughts on this?

Does the bike work okay if you put the screw back in the carb lid

That's a good question. I thought I'd put it back to see if maybe the piston was rising too high causing weak mixture on fast openings.
Can't find the brass screw in the garage............

I'm prob around 2.5. the bike is due its post run-in service this weekend, so I'm going to check and write down the settings for both the idle and mixture screw.

Sounds a bit like rich mixture have you recently changed the needle position? anyway a quick way of checking is to remove the foam from the air filter and see what effect if any this has.
