As in your head? Are gonna take anything off or just clean up the rough edges and polish?

Step one completed; Removed base gasket and replaced with liquid gasket to raise compression. Now to grind the head!

Hope you have a spare head in case it goes wrong and make sure you can see your face in those inlet and exhaust tracts

Are you doing engineering at uni? That electro micrometer looks posh!

Isn't it better to keep the inlet port rough, because i heard that if its too smooth fuel vapours condensates/pools to the sides of the port

Same? ;D How much more evidence do you need? At least you didn't go out and buy an 80cc kit to find out the hard way!

A bit of roughness on inlet wont hurt as it will make the mixture better but on the other hand you dont want too much as it will restrict air flow. As for the exhaust the smoother the better. What size is the exhaust? Match the port to the exhaust pipe size then polish the crap out of it #woohoo#

Are you doing engineering at uni? That electro micrometer looks posh! Yes, I used a digital micrometer at work, and I could never go back! I got tired of using a ruler and guesstimating, this caliper is tops! btw, it was only $15, which is probably about 8 pounds. I got it from a local Harbor Freight tools... www.harborfreight.com/

Hope you have a spare head in case it goes wrong and make sure you can see your face in those inlet and exhaust tracts I have a ton of extra parts everywhere. I actually have 2 spare heads to take parts from if I need them, that's why I'm so brave. Plus, I've been studying the other heads to decide where I'm gonna grind. This is what you see when you walk into my room: It was even worse when I was working on both mopeds at the same time!
