Did you guys know the front lights on Taishan's are illegal? Below the front lights there's 2 lights but the bulbs are orange and not clear/white.

You're right mate, they are illegal. I guess the Chinese have different laws to Europe although why they put orange bulbs on the front of a scooter is anyone's guess. I'll probably change mine soon but no doubt it'll be one of those little jobs that never get done. ;D

dose that mean i have to change the bulbs,as i like the orange ones? Unfortunately yes. The only lights allowed on the front of a bike or car have to be clear-white. Orange is for indicators only so I guess the logic is if another motorist comes towards you and see's two orange lights permantly on they might get confused. Two new bulbs should only cost around £1.

Exactly. The worst that can happen is they'll give you 14 days to change them, you might have to get an mot garage to sign a piece of paper saying they've been changed. A bit of hassle but nothing to get concerned about.

I replaced my orange bulbs this morning with two clear ones, they cost a whopping £1.50 per pair. I was expecting 75p for both not each. They make the front of the bike look a bit better too as you lose that "fried egg" appearance of seeing the orange bulbs through the plastic lense. It's nice to know I'm all legal & above board now.

You gave in to the pressure then? Now you'll be able to see better at night as having two orange dots pointing on the ground doesn't really help much when it's dark.

The cops can't pull me over now, maybe I'll get my bike de-restricted so they can get me for speeding?

Who knows what goes on in China. I'm surprised the import company (Road Radio) don't change the bulbs because when you think about it they're selling a scooter which isn't 100% road legal.
