I have 125ccm ( GY6) Hongmei scoot in Shanghai. I saw that my exhaust pipe has some kind of blockade at the beginning as it comes out of the engine head. There it is smaller as on the rest of the pipe. It looks like it was cut and smaller pipe was than welded into it. I would like to attached picture but do not know how to do that, so please also help me there. So what I would like to know is if this pipe is blocked or not!?
Best regards,
Tomas

Does it look like a large washer welded into the end? It sounds to me like a restrictor, in which case you could probably drill or file the hole out bigger, but check on this first. Also, if it is restricted, check on your laws, this may be a reason its there.

Ginger phil I'm terribly sorry for question in this sectin! I have just read the worning. My bad!
enu06, thanks for reply. There is nothing to drill. There is just one smaller pipe inserted and welded into bigger pipe, that's it. And this smaller pipe is like 5cm long. It is at the begining of exhaust pipe till first 5cm, than the bigger begins and it goes unchanged all the way to muffer.
If someone knows how to attach picture we could see this clearly!

The mechanic who did my MOT told me that some bikes have something in the exhaust which acts as a restrictor. Usually a washer which upsets the flow of exhaust gases which build up in the exhaust itself and cause back pressure as the gases cannot escape fast enough.
I was going to get a straight through exhaust made up for my Jialing using a silencer from of all things a mini. Although it might of made more noise, it would of improved the bikes max top speed. I may of had to alter the fuel mix too because of improved cumbustion meaning I would of gained speed at the expence of economy.
If it was me, I would find a way of removing it even if it meant drilling the welds and getting the holes welded up. hope it helps.

It sounds very much like a restrictor to me. If you decide to drill/file it out, you may have to fit a bigger jet in the carburettor.
I'm going to take my exhaust off and look inside it!

Yes sounds like a restrictor to me... remove and upjet carb to suit.
Running a totally free flow exhaust reduces engine torque but increases top end rpm... you have to balance acceleration and speed.
