Can anyone suggest any good locks (or simple alarms) that would keep a moped in the hands of its owner? My moped was stolen from the front yard last winter and found trashed in a nearby park. The people who took it ripped the front panel off and pulled out the wiring - and dented everything up a bit, but i don't think they touched the engine...

email andy@avsco.co.uk he is the best person I know of on this sort of thing, he actually instals them as well as sell them with instructions and full back-up service.

I use a good square-section through-hardened steel chain from B&Q (price varies depending on length) and a big-butt padlock, which has worked so far.

Lidl's had a special on a couple of weeks ago which consisted of I sturdy bike lock and a very long plastice covered wire lock where you can lock your bike to lampost or fence. two for the price of one £4.99 But then again who in their right mind would want to nick an antiquated old nuts heap like mine when the kids want something more modern to stuff up.

But then again who in their right mind would want to nick an antiquated old nuts heap like mine when the kids want something more modern to stuff up. I thought that until some little c**t nicked my Bajaj out of my back garden last summer. I hadn't locked it, but wasnt worried because it wasnt finished (panels missing, tatty looking etc) Got a phone call from the No1 of my club to say he'd found someone trying to nick it to ride it round the woods! They don't care what it look like so long as it goes! Lock it or lose it!
