Its been a few months since I posted this one so many of the newbies wont have seen it. Cutting a long(ish) story short I found that the bolt that secures the handle bars was eating its way through the wiring harness, which apart from obvious problems could have caused a fire! To solve this I cut up an old inner tube and zip ties it around the cables, after six months use on inspection the other day, I am happy to report it seems to have worked, just light chaffing to the inner-tube. When I get my new bike this is one job I would do from new on assembly, I would advise anyone to check theirs too.

I bought a bike off eBay which had had a fire in the wiring harness. I traced it to exactly the area you are talking about. It was a Chunlan 125 (This one)
