I have retraced my steps 'backwards' through the mods to no avail. I have checked my valves twice and they are spot on. I even tried 0.1 instead of 0.05 - no change.
My bike was off the road for about 5 days while I was fixing the issue i had with the exhaust and then this problem materialised and before that it was running quite nippy expcept for a 5 or 10% dip in power due to the loose exhaust.
To be fair, I am not the best at remembering to lubricate my bike except for regular oil changes, so it would not surprise me if something has 'seized' or similar in the transmission that stops it kicking into the mode that makes it go faster than a crawl.
Is there anything I should/shouldn't lubricate in the vacinity of the clutch i.e anything I need to watch out for as I think my next step is to get to know my clutch up close and personal!

Went to tackle the clutch and realised I dont have a 10mm socket for my impact wrench!
I did have a close look at my belt and noticed a small nick in it, very slight. Would this cause the bike to only trickle along at 1mph?

HELP ME CHINESESCOOTERCLUB YOUR MY ONLY HOPE!
C'mon guys n gals, its getting scary now with a non-working scooter! I have Sunday off and plan to be underneath the bike all day.
Can you all rack your brains and fire some ideas this way as to why my scooter only creeps?
I want to avoid taking it to a mechanic not because I am stingy, infact far from it, its just that forthe first time in many a year I find myself with for want of a better word, A hobby!
I love taking this bike apart and putting it back together and fixing stuff so i want to get to the bottom of it.
So come on all, lets get our collective heads on so I can have a fun Sunday drinking the odd Magners in the sun with my scoot!
Cheers all

Hope fully its the clutch, but until you take it apart you wont know. Run the bike with the belt cover off, you might see the problem, it the clutch itself is o.k., then it could be final drive ripped out of your back wheel hub, splines torn off axle or drive in wheel, or gearbox broke! Well you did ask! My bet is on the clutch though, and until you get that socket you wont know. Good luck!

I hope its the clutch too!
What will I be looking for i.e how will I know if its a clutch problem?
From my limited knowledge, I think I am looking to see if the clutch pulley is working i.e the belt is moving from its start position to its 2nd position after revs. Does this sound right?
Also, anything else I need to check? contra spring??

got to the bottom of it all, thanks for all your help.
Took it to mechanic and it was an issue with the carb diaphragm!
