If we give our little chinese scoots all that extra power, we will gain alot of acceleration but i dont think we will be able to gain alot of top speed, mainly because the transmission doesnt have a long enough gear to really go above 45mph!
When im going along at 40mph my 50cc engine is aproaching the top of its revs! so if you do install the 80cc kit, with the extra power will we need some sort of transmission mod to be able to go higher than 45mph?
Hopefully you can understand what im saying!

The kit should fit all the 4 stroke 50s, as for the gearing, as I said before the kit was tested on two Jinlun scooters, the problem with thease scooters is that at standard the scooter can go 50mph at about 7800 rpm so with the kit it worked realy well, so if your scooter revs out at 45 mph you probably wont get much more than 45mph. It may be the variator, I can send a Jinlun variator (on loan) to see if it gears it diferently, any volenteers? posible gear box gears aswell.

I think it would be the gears in the gear box that would make the difference. If you are able to get the higher gear ratio sets, I would be willing to test one, and let everyone know how they go.
It would be interesting to see what effect they have on a standard 50cc engine too.
As far as the variator goes, I think the variators are the same and think it's down to the roller weights. With the 79cc fitted I would probably go for heavier weights than standard (6.7g). this would use some of the extra power in the top end speed, but would also allow faster acceleration.
What roller weights did you have on your Jinlun's you tested the 79cc kits on?
